Heather is a speech-language pathologist and artist based in Long Beach, CA. She received her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from New York University and studied theater at Rutgers University. She currently works at South Bay Speech Therapy Clinic , PC.
Heather performed in musical theatre professionally for 7 years and briefly acted in independent films, before returning to school to obtain her Masters. Health challenges cut her performing career short. Through a health journey that took her across the country, over 10 years and twice as many doctors, Heather learned to be her own health advocate.
The experiences Heather had in musical theatre allow her to understand the demands of being a vocal performer. She has taught vocal health workshops at performing arts studios and Rutgers University Summer Acting Conservatory. She is passionate about educating young artists and working professionals about their vocal health, and most importantly, how to be their own health advocate.
Heather feels fortunate to have found in speech-language pathology an opportunity to combine her first love of the performing arts, with her newfound passion for health, science, and wellbeing.
